Livingston County Booking Process

A Livingston County arrest may be made by the Sheriff's Office, city police, Michigan State Police, or another agency. The person is then transported to Livingston County Jail for booking and intake. Adult felony cases usually begin in District Court with arraignment on the complaint and a preliminary examination. If the case is bound over, the 44th Circuit Court handles it after transfer. Livingston County Jail Visits

Livingston County Jail conducts visits by video through ICSolutions. On-site visits and remote visits must follow jail scheduling, ID, monitoring, and housing-unit rules. Visitors should schedule at least 24 hours in advance, arrive 15 minutes early for on-site visits, and bring valid government-issued photo ID if age 17 or older. Only three visitors are allowed on-site per visit, and adults must be registered and scheduled.

Mail for Livingston County Jail must be sent by USPS to the inmate name, Resident, Livingston County Jail, 150 S. Highlander Way, Howell, MI 48843. Incoming mail must show the sender's name and address. Non-legal mail must be a standard postcard no larger than 5 by 7 inches. Livingston County Funds and Bond

Livingston County Jail uses Access Corrections for trust deposits by card online and for cash or card deposits at the jail lobby kiosk. Gift packages route through MichiganCountyPackages and Access Securepak. Money found on a person at booking is placed into the inmate trust account, and the account can be used for bond, commissary, phone calls, and jail fees.
